Minister Carmen DAN had a meeting with the new Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Bucharest, Mrs. Füsun ARAMAZ

On April the 12th, 2019, Minister Carmen DAN had a meeting at the MAI headquarters with the new Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Bucharest, Mrs. Füsun ARAMAZ. The lady ambassador is a good acquaintance of a Turkish-Tatar community in Romania, during 2010-2013 being the general consul in Constanta and working closely with the Romanian authorities. Considering the experience of Her Excellency in our country, during the discussions, specific issues were debated regarding the cooperation between Romania and Turkey in the field of internal affairs, focusing on the fight against organized crime, illegal migration, terrorism and other serious crimes. There were also approached issues related to border management, co-operation between the Gendarmerie structures and those for emergency situations. Special emphasis was upon EU-Turkey cooperation, considering the quality of Romania as President-in-Office of the EU Council, highlighting the commitment of the parties for the consolidation and future of this relationship. Also, the invitation for Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman SOYLU was reiterated to make an official visit in Romania this year, an opportunity to set the priorities for cooperation between the two ministries on a bilateral and regional level.
