Press Release

On the occasion of the workshops carried out on the 15th of November 2022, within the Ministerial Conference of the Salzburg Forum, the participants debated upon complex topics, among them the management in an integrated system of the consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, from the perspective of internal affairs.

The first panel discussion covered issues such as preventing human trafficking and arms trafficking from Ukraine, cyber security, protecting critical infrastructure and countering disinformation campaigns coordinated by hostile state actors.

The main issues of the second panel concerned civil protection topics, with an emphasis on the reception, in accordance with the norms of international law, of refugees from Ukraine, the provision of temporary protection and humanitarian assistance, as well as the preparation for possible nuclear incidents in Ukraine.

In the context of the multilateral dialogue, the ministers agreed to undertake coordinated efforts in order to prevent possible phenomena of transnational criminality associated with the war, including after its end, but also in order to deal with potential major incidents in this regard.
