Today, February the 11th, 2022, the Romanian Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Lucian Nicolae BODE attended the Joint Government Meeting Romania-Republic of Moldova, where he had consistent discussions with his counterpart in Chisinau, Minister Ana REVENCO.

The bilateral dialogue aimed in particular to increase the security of citizens on both shores of the Prut river, by developing bilateral cooperation in the spirit of the Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership between Romania and the Republic of Moldova for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. (Aproved in Bucharest, April 27th, 2010).

The joint efforts of the two line ministries will be reflected in the immediate future in activities aimed at reducing emergency response time, increasing disaster response capacity, reducing cross-border organized crime and preventing corruption by a significant number of personal training activities in the Republic of Moldova.

In order to ensure that the agreed measures will be carried out in the best possible conditions, the two ministers signed today the Joint Declaration on Cooperation in Home (Internal) Affairs, in which they wrote a timetable for the implementation of the 29 objectives of the Roadmap document signed last year by the two foreign ministers.

Also today, the two ministers signed the Cooperation Plan in the field of vocational training for 2022, which will allow the training of MIA staff from the Republic of Moldova in Romania, in the fields under the competence of IGPR, IGJR, IGSU and IGPF.

The two ministers also discussed about the launch of new EU-funded projects and the possibility of capitalizing on the resources made available to the Chisinau authorities by the Agreement between the Romanian Government and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on the implementation of the technical and financial assistance program, in a value of 100 million euros granted by Romania to the Republic of Moldova, signed today by the prime ministers of the two countries.
