Until today, on July the 2st, in Romania,  27.746 cases of people infected with COVID – 19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the people confirmed positive,  20.433  were discharged, of which 19.363 patients were cured and 1.070 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

At the same time, so far, 1.687  people diagnosed with COVID-19 died.

Between 01.07.2020 (10:00) – 02.07.2020 (10:00) were registered 20 deaths (11 men and 9 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Mehedinți, Prahova, Suceava și Vaslui.

Among these, 2 death was recorded in the age group 40-49, 1 death in the age category 50-59 years, 8 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 4 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 5 deaths of persons over 80 years old.

All deaths occurred in patients with preexistent comorbidities.

Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 450 new cases of illness have been registered.

At the moment, 237 patients are hospitalized at intensive care units.

On the Romanian territory, there are 787 people in institutionalized quarantine. Another 59.414 people are in solitary confinement at home and under medical supervision.

Until today, 735.221  tests have been processed at national level.

In the last 24 hours,  484 calls were registered at 112 emergency number and 1.437 at TELVERDE line (0800 800 358) – dedicated line for citizens informing.

The police and the gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 345 sanctions, amounting to 135.850 lei, for minor offenses regarding the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 3 crimes were found yesterday to thwart the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

At the same time, on July 1.st, 66 persons who did not comply with the measure of home isolation or quarantine were placed in institutionalized quarantine for 14 days or the measure of institutionalized quarantine was ordered for a new period of 14 days.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 4.795 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19: 1.885 in Italy, 561 in Spain, 107 in France, 2.075 in Germany, 97 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA, 6 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Sweden. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic, 115 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 7 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA and one in Brazil, died.

Among the Romanian citizens who are confirmed with the new coronavirus, 72 have been declared healed: 50 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

We remind to citizens to consider only the information verified by official sources and to call for recommendations and other information on the line TELVERDE – 0800.800.358. The TELVERDE number is not an emergency number, but a telephone line strictly assigned to inform. Also, Romanians abroad can request information about preventing and combating the virus at the line specially dedicated to them, +4021.320.20.20.

Other decisions, as well as other data of interest, will be made public as soon as possible.

Until 1.st of July 2020,1 561 230 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
