The absorption of non-reimbursable external funds; a priority for MIA

Minister of Internal Affairs, Carmen Dan, attended today, April, the 16th this year, at the meeting with the specialized structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the field of attracting non-reimbursable external funds. These funds of this type are very important for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the attracted amounts representing financing sources for about 80% of the value of the investments made at the level of the MIA over the last five years. The investments concerned the rehabilitation of the premises for the Ministry of Interior subordinated units, the purchase of equipment for operative activities, ships and boats for border police, motor vehicles and other means of mobility, including the ones for rescuing people in difficulty. During the meeting, the Minister of Internal Affairs asked the persons with managerial positions and attributions to attract European funds to increase their involvement in the realization of the projects and to allocate the necessary human and logistic resources for the efficiency of this process. During the period 2007-2013, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and subordinated or coordinated structures managed to attract non-reimbursable external funds of EUR 600 million and for the 2014-2020 financial framework the amount foreseen to be absorbed is 1.2 billion euro.
