In the context of the Sibiu Summit, the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Security „ROMANIA-EU 2019” was set up at the level of the leaders of the institutions of the National Defense System, Public Order and National Security – MApN, MIA, SRI, SIE, STS and SPP. Each institution, within the limits of its competences provided for by law, has established and adapted the security measures necessary for the smooth running of the events of the 9th of May 2019, in order to allow normal day-to-day activities in Sibiu and without imposing any particular restrictions. Considering the importance of the event, the presence of the Heads of State and Government, as well as of the European officials, the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Security „ROMANIA-EU 2019” organized regular working sessions both in Bucharest and Sibiu that were attended by the local authorities, too. Such a technical meeting, attended by representatives of the MApN, MAI, SRI, SIE, STS and SPP, took place today in Sibiu, when they analyzed in detail, on the spot, the security measures that are required for such an event. The Romanian-EU 2019 Inter-ministerial Security Committee has dimensioned the actions that will take place in Sibiu, so that the life of Sibiu citizens will take place normally in the city that will host the most important event of Romania’s presidency of the Council of the European Union.
