The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ion Marcel Vela, attended the budget summary review meetings of the General Anticorruption Directorate and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie

Mr. Vela has awarded the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Honorary Emblem with a war mark to the 23 gendarmes who carried out missions in Afghanistan between February and September 2019.

From his side, the Minister of Internal Affairs received from the gendarmes an Afghan scarf, a cap specific to the public order troops in Afghanistan, the Badge and the Contingent Emblem.

The award was held at the headquarters of the Gendarmerie, on February 13th, during the meeting of the General Inspectorate Romanian Gendarmerie.

During the budget summary review meeting, the Minister of Internal Affairs also mentioned the gendarmes in the country who were noted for their actions and stressed that the most important resource of the institution is represented by professional and people integrity.

Also, on February 12th, the Minister of Internal Affairs participated in the General Anticorruption Directorate’s budget summary review meeting.

Mr. Ion Marcel Vela expressed his appreciation for the preventive actions and the investigations carried out by the GAD, the elite institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs receiving, by Minister Order, the Honor Badge of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
