To date, on June 20, in Romania, 1.080.256 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

1.045.122 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report 53 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the “new cases not allocated by counties”, we specify that their number is determined by the changes brought to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the testing centers directly introduce the results of the tests performed, and the epidemiological investigation will be performed at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases will be assigned to the county / locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of infections accumulated at 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the level of Bucharest Municipality and counties. Below you have the graph based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 11 people were reconfirmed positively. The distribution by county of these cases can be found in the table below.

To date, 32.326 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 19.06.2021 (10:00) – 20.06.2021 (10:00) were reported by INSP 18 deaths (16 men and 2 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in  Argeș, Ialomița and Vaslui.

16 of these deaths predate the above-mentioned interval and were entered in the database, at the request of the Ministry of Health, by the Public Health Directorates of the country, following the verifications performed.

Thus, 3 deaths occurred in in November 2020, 3 in December 2020, 10 in April 2021 in the counties Argeș and Ialomița.

Of the 18 deaths, 2 was registered in the age category 40-49 years, 4 in the category  50-59 years, 6 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 3 deaths in the age group 70-79 years and 3 deaths in the age category over 80 years.

16 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, and for 2 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 781. Of these, 161 are hospitalized at Intensive Care Units.

To date, 8.220.005 RT-PCR tests and 1.355.528 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 12.173 RT-PCR tests were performed (3.034 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 9.139 on request) and  7.378 rapid antigen tests.

In Romania, 2.392 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 1.069 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 22.231 people are in quarantine at home, and 39 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 193 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on June 19, 629 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 148.880 lei.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 23,555 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2,543 in Italy, 16,778 in Spain, 195 in the United Kingdom, 127 in France, 3,124 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 5 in the USA, 8 in Sweden, 141 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 75 in Switzerland, 4 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus , 7 in Bulgaria, 13 in Cyprus, 4 in India, 5 in Ukraine, 8 in United Arab Emirates, 14 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 5 in Singapore, 5 in Tunisia, 9 in Korea, 2 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 in Serbia and one each in Argentina, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, the Republic of the Congo, Qatar, the Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Slovenia, the Russian Federation, Croatia, Finland and Poland. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 191 Romanian citizens abroad, 35 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 60 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 5 in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Austria, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo, one in Greece, one in Iran and one in Poland, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine..

Below we present the situation regarding the infection with the SARS – CoV – 2 virus at European and global level:

Between of June 10 – June 17, 2021, 32.942.528 cases were reported in the EU / EEA. Most cases have been reported in France, Italy, Spain and Germany.

As of 15 December, the CEPCB has stopped publishing data on the number of confirmed cases and the number of deceased citizens, both in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra and globally. These reports are updated weekly.

Data published by Johns Hopkins CSSE, targeting the number of healed citizens, continues to be updated daily.
