To date, on June 9th , in Romania, 1,079,294 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

1,043,482 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report 140 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. The distribution by counties of the total and new cases can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the “new cases not allocated by counties”, we specify that their number is determined by the changes brought to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the testing centers directly introduce the results of the tests performed, and the epidemiological investigation will be performed at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases will be assigned to the county / locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of infections accumulated at 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the level of Bucharest Municipality and counties. Below you have the graph based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 49 people were reconfirmed positively. The distribution by county of these cases can be found in the table below.

To date, 31,383 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 08.06.2021 (10:00) – 09.06.2021 (10:00) were reported by INSP 228 deaths (122 men and 106 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bihor, Bacău, Brașov, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Harghita, Iași, Maramureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Teleorman, Ilfov and Bucharest.

214 of these deaths predate the above-mentioned interval and were entered in the database, at the request of the Ministry of Health, by the Public Health Directorates of the country, following the verifications performed.

Thus, 1 death occurred in June 2020, 1 in July 2020, 2 in August 2020, 4 in September 2020, 10 in October 2020, 56 in November 2020, 40 in December 2020, 30 in January 2021, 21 in February 2021, 33 in March 2021 and 16 in April 2021, in the counties of Alba, Argeș, Arad, Cluj, Gorj, Ilfov, Iași, Maramureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Teleorman and Bucharest.

Of the 228 deaths, 2 were registered in the age category 30-39 years, 5 in the category 40-49 years, 28 in the category 50-59 years, 66 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 70 deaths in the age group 70-79 years and 57 deaths in the age category over 80 years.

216 of the registered deaths were of some patients who presented comorbidities, 3 patients did not present comorbidities, and for 9 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In the specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 1,436. Of these, 272 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 8,043,386 RT-PCR tests and 1,244,874 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 19,084 RT-PCR tests were performed (11,326 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 7,758 on request) and 9,304 rapid antigen tests.

In Romania, 3,249 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 1,825 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 22,418 people are in quarantine at home, and 63 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 381 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 713 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on June 8, 625 sanctions for minor offenses, amounting to 115,150 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, a criminal file was drawn up yesterday to thwart the fight against diseases, a deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 23,544 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2,543 in Italy, 16,778 in Spain, 195 in the United Kingdom, 127 in France, 3,124 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 5 in the USA, 8 in Sweden, 141 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 65 in Switzerland, 4 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus , 7 in Bulgaria, 13 in Cyprus, 4 in India, 5 in Ukraine, 8 in United Arab Emirates, 14 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 5 in Singapore, 5 in Tunisia, 8 in Korea, 2 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 in Serbia and one each in Argentina, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, the Republic of the Congo, Qatar, the Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Slovenia, the Russian Federation, Croatia, Finland and Poland. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 191 Romanian citizens abroad, 35 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 60 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 5 in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Austria, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo, one in Greece, one in Iran and one in Poland, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine..

Note: these data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the competent authorities of the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad.

Below we present the situation regarding the infection with the SARS – CoV – 2 virus at European and global level:

Between 27th of May –  3rd  of June 2021, 32,608,386 cases were reported in the EU / EEA. Most cases have been reported in France, Italy, Spain and Germany.

As of 15 December, the CEPCB has stopped publishing data on the number of confirmed cases and the number of deceased citizens, both in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra and globally. These reports are updated weekly.

Data published by Johns Hopkins CSSE, targeting the number of healed citizens, continues to be updated daily.
