To date, on November 23rd, 1.766.987 cases of infection with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been registered in Romania, of which 10.116 are from reinfected patients, tested positive for more than 180 days after the first infection. .
1.653.179 patients were declared cured.
In the last 24 hours, 2.736 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, of which 49 are of reinfected patients, tested positive for more than 180 days after the first infection.

*Regarding the “new cases not allocated by counties”, we specify that their number is determined by the changes brought to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralised. Thus, according to the new methodology, the testing centers directly introduce the results of the tests performed, and the epidemiological investigation will be performed at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases will be assigned to the county / locality to which the infected persons belong.
** Regarding the cases from abroad, these are cases of some citizens who came to Romania being infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total number of new cases not allocated by counties.
The coefficient of infections accumulated at 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the level of Bucharest Municipality and counties. Below you have the graph based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

To date, 55.386 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 22.11.2021 (10:00) – 23.11.2021 (10:00) were reported by INSP 273 deaths (121 men and 152 women), of which 30 before the reference interval, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Brăila, Buzău, Călărași, Cluj, Covasna, Caraș Severin, Constanța, Dolj, Dâmbovița, Giurgiu, Galați, Harghita, Iași, Ilfov, Ialomița, Teleorman, Maramureș. Mureș, Mehedinți, Neamț and Bucharest.
Of the 273 deaths, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 30-39 years, 9 in the category 40-49 years, 26 in the age category 50-59 years, 64 in age category 60-69 years, 94 in the age category 70-79 years and 78 in the age category over 80 years.
30 deaths were reported prior to the reference interval, occurring in the counties of Bacău, Bihor, Brașovm Galați, Giurgiu, Ialomița, Iași, Sibiu, Suceava, in October 2021 and November 2021. 243 deaths were reported in the reference interval.
Of the total of 273 patients who died, 243 were unvaccinated and 30 were vaccinated. The 30 vaccinated deceased patients were aged 40-49 years and over 80 years. 24 of the vaccinated patients who died had comorbidities and for 6 patients no comorbidities were reported so far.
In the specialised health units, the total number of people hospitalised with COVID-19 is 10.162. Of these, 1.490 are hospitalised at Intensive Care Units. Of the 1.490 patients admitted to ATI, 152 have a certificate attesting to vaccination.
Out of the total number of hospitalised patients, 155 are minors, 138 being hospitalised in medical departments and 17 in Intensive Care Units.
To date, 10,643,392 RT-PCR tests and 5,140,572 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 53.621 were performed, of which 15,133 RT-PCR tests (8,452 based on case definition and medical protocol and 6,681 on request) and 39,596 rapid antigen tests.
On the Romanian territory, 48.788 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home, and 10.204 people are in institutionalised isolation. Also, 53.621 people are in quarantine at home, and 54 people are in institutionalised quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 2,094 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112 and 379 to TelVerde.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on November 22nd, 2.397 sanctions for minor offences, amounting to 508.405 lei.
We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalised, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.
The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 23.802 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2.553 in Italy, 16,947 in Spain, 199 in the United Kingdom, 132 in France, 3,125 in Germany, 97 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 11 in the USA, 8 in Sweden, 146 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 75 in Switzerland, 5 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 8 in Bulgaria, 28 in Cyprus, 4 in India, 5 in Ukraine, 9 in United Arab Emirates, 17 in Republic of Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 5 in Singapore, 5 in Tunisia, 12 in Korea, 2 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 in Serbia, 8 in Croatia, 6 in Portugal, 6 in Poland and one each in Argentina, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, the Republic of the Congo, Qatar, the Vatican, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Slovenia, the Russian Federation, Finland, Kuwait and Nigeria. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and until now, 197 Romanian citizens abroad, 38 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 60 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 5 in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Austria, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo, one in Greece, one in Iran, one in Poland, one in Bulgaria, one in Nigeria and one in Turkey, have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.

Between 11 November, 2021-18 November, 2021 43.350.381 cases were reported in the EU / EEA. Most cases have been reported in France, Italy, Spain and Germany.
As of 15 December, the CEPCB has stopped publishing data on the number of confirmed cases and the number of deceased citizens, both in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra and globally. These reports are updated weekly.
