The meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, with representatives of the National Crime Agency (Great Britain)

On February the 13th, 2024, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, had an official work meeting with the delegation of representatives of the National Crime Agency (NCA), a leader in combating drug trafficking and related crimes.

This meeting marks an important moment in the strengthening of bilateral relations between Romania and Great Britain in the field of the fight against cross-border crime.

Discussions focused on current issues and challenges in the field of drug trafficking and money laundering, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach in combating these phenomena.

A central point of the meeting was the decision to create a cooperation platform between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Crime Agency. This platform will facilitate the exchange of information and good practices, support joint initiatives and strengthen efforts to eradicate drug trafficking networks and related financial crimes.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, pointed out the importance of this collaboration: „The creation of the cooperation platform between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Crime Agency is part of a more structured police cooperation, which we can help build with the police authorities in the United Kingdom for combating organized crime and drug and human trafficking. We are committed to working together to ensure the safety of our citizens and protect our democratic values.
