Transit of the operational border points at the border with Hungary in permanent regime / The time intervals that generated the queues at the border with Romania were eliminated

This afternoon, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ion Marcel Vela, paid a working visit to Nădlac Customs in order to verify the implementation of the measures taken for the maximum use of the infrastructure of the border crossing points on the border between Romania and Hungary, taking into account that, starting with June 1, international road and rail passenger transport will be resumed by regular services.

On this occasion, Minister Marcel Vela announced that the transit through Hungary will be possible starting from Friday, May 29th, at 07.00 A.M. (Romanian time), without being conditioned by a certain time interval, the traffic participants being able to leave the country by the points of crossing the operational border at the border with Hungary in a permanent regime (24/24 h), in order to enter the territory of the neighboring state or to transit to other states from Western Europe.

At the same time, we mention that the Hungarian authorities have communicated the fact that the same conditions are valid for people traveling from Western Europe, starting with 9:00 P.M.

The Minister of Internal Affairs explained that these time intervals generated queues at the border between the two countries.

During this period, the border formalities follow the same procedure in the sense that, in addition to the specific control upon entry into the country, the persons are taken over by the representatives of the Public Health Directorate to complete the declaration on their own responsibility and perform epidemiological triage.

We remind you that at the common border, 11 border crossing points are operational both on the way into the country and on the way out for the control formalities.

The following border crossing points are operational for the traffic of people and trucks, depending on the specifics of each point:

– P.T.F. Petea – Satu Mare county

– P.T.F. Urziceni – Satu Mare county

– P.T.F. Valea lui Mihai – Bihor County

– P.T.F. Borş – Bihor county

– P.T.F. Vărșand – Arad county

– P.T.F. Turnu – Arad county

– P.T.F. Nădlac I – Arad county

– P.T.F. Nădlac II – Arad county

Also, through the other crossing points open at the common border, only the traffic of cross-border workers will be allowed:

– P.T.F. Salonta – Bihor county

– P.T.F. Săcuieni – Bihor county

– P.T.F. Cenad – Timiş County

We recommend to traffic participants to transit all border crossing points open to international traffic at the western border, so as to avoid the occurrence of overloads of only some of them, due to a large number of passengers, in a very short time.

Information on the situation of border points open to international traffic can be found on the online Traffic application which can be accessed at http://www.politiadefrontiera.ro/traficonline/.
