Considering the recent public-sector discussions regarding Anticorruption General Directorate (AGD), today Minister of Internal Affairs, Carmen Dan had a meeting at the AGD headquarters with commanders and executives present in the unit, by which occasion she indicated that the reorganization process that was requested did not aim to dismantle the direction.The Anticorruption General Directorate is an important and representative structure for the MIA. In this context, the Minister of the Interior has declared that the only objective of the reorganization is to strengthen the activity of preventing and fighting corruption and strengthening the integrity climate of the ministry, starting from an internal self-evaluation.The Minister of Internal Affairs has exemplified the need to intensify AGD’s actions, including recent developments at the Police Academy level, where there are suspicions of committing serious acts of threat to a journalist interested in the topic of plagiarism in PhD thesis. The Minister of the Interior also said that the views expressed publicly by the General Director, in a way that he personally assumed it, should not interfere with the activity of the institution and the achievement of its objectives.The last reorganization of AGD took place in 2016, following the same considerations
