Onthe 27th – 28th of May, 2019, a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs headed by Secretary of State,Police Chief Commissioner CatalinNECULA participated in the Ministerial Conference of the Salzburg Forum, organized by the Slovenian Presidency of this mechanism for international cooperation at Portorož, in Slovenia. The event also featured ministers and state secretaries from Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary, as well as representatives of the relevant European law enforcement agencies.The debates approachedvery important topics on the European agenda, focusing upon the need to constantly improve measures to combat illegal migration, as well as on the importance of endowing and preparing law enforcement structures at the highest level, thus so that they can quickly exchange information and cope with internet criminality and modern technology.At the end of the activities, a joint statement was adopted by which the participants appreciated the results in the field of internal affairs, obtained in the last 18 months by the states that held and hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union -Bulgaria, Austria and Romania and agreed on the necessity to continue the legislative reforms at EU level, together with the effective implementation of already approved measures
